Golden Mussels are a new and dangerous threat to our waterways because they can thrive at high altitudes and in cold temperatures. They clog pipelines and damage essential water infrastructure. Recreationists need to know to check their crafts and gear for contamination before entering Eastern Sierra bodies of water.
